In the coming weeks, we will be inviting you to assist through a new Kickstarter campaign in bringing Reem’s next album project to fruition. Taking its name from (and including) the poignant Woody Guthrie song, “This Land is Your Land”, the album will comprise songs from the communities alongside which Reem grew up in Kuwait, a repertoire that has influenced her musical language and which is little known in the West. Most of the songs happen to be from countries on President Trump’s proposed travel ban. It’ll be a celebration of diversity and difference.
