70 Israeli settlers attacked school today in Nablus

Dozens of masked Israeli settlers on Tuesday stormed and attacked a Palestinian school in Urif town to the south of Nablus, which led to the outbreak of clashes in the school.

The local activist Hossam al-Sharif told a PIC reporter that 70 masked settlers broke into the high school and brutally assaulted the Palestinian students and their teachers.

He added that large Israeli forces arrived at the scene and heavily fired tear gas canisters at the students and prevented ambulances’ access to the school to provide medical aid for the injured.

The Israeli forces provided security protection for the invading settlers.

Residents of Urif town have repeatedly called for the formation of a popular committee to provide protection in face of the ceaseless settlers’ attacks.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested at dawn Tuesday 11 Palestinians throughout the West Bank.

Israeli media sources said that IOF soldiers launched, since the early morning hours, a series of raids in the West Bank. 11 arrests were reported during the raids including members of Hamas Movement.

In al-Khalil, three minors were nabbed and taken to Etzion military camp after being detained for a short period at the entrance of Beit Ummar town.

A university student was also arrested by Israeli forces after violently breaking into his home in al-Khalil, while a second young man was nabbed in Silwad town in Ramallah.

For their part, Palestinian youths stoned the Israeli troops while storming Silwad town.

Two other youths were nabbed in Bil’in town to the south of Ramallah.

In Nablus, large Israeli forces broke into Beit Furik and Burin towns and raided a number of homes looking for weapons.

Violent clashes erupted in Burin with the IOF soldiers stationed on the outskirts of the town. No arrests were carried out during the clashes.

Along the same line, Palestinian angry protesters threw Molotov cocktails at a group of settlers near Fawar refugee camp, south of al-Khalil, Tuesday morning.

A large number of Israeli forces brutally stormed the camp and carried out a raid and search campaign in dozens of homes.

Earlier today, IOF soldiers stormed Aroub refugee camp without reporting any arrests.

On the other hand, Israeli settlers gathered in large numbers at the main road linking al-Khalil and Bethlehem as a prelude to carry out stone-throwing attacks against Palestinian vehicles.

Jewish settlers’ criminal attacks have escalated recently against Palestinians and their properties, most recently was hanging a Jerusalemite bus driver to death on Sunday.
