Biodiversity Convention, olive picking, agro-diplomacy, and more

Mazin Qumsiyeh

Dear Colleagues

Our last day of olive picking at the institute ground will hopefully be
tomorrow/Friday so join us as we have only 8 trees left and we must finish
tomorrow (we started Sunday). Ofcourse for me and some staff who have
personal olive trees, we will have to pick those over the weekend Saturday
and Sunday (we have 5 trees and with little help, Jessie and I hope to be
able to finish them in those two days). Olive picking is such an energizing
and enriching experience. Check our facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/PIBS.PMNH for photos and videos and check out this
article I wrote a while ago about why olives are so important
https://www.transcend.org/tms/2019/10/the-olive-tree-not-just-an-ordinary-tree/
But if you missed this, we still have many volunteer opportunities at our
institute for example repairing the garden for the winter season. We would
love you to join the amazing staff (9) and volunteers (>12) we have
this season of blessing. We also need planning and work as we expand to an
1000 sq meter new facilities (funded by >$1.1 million). We also have more
research, education, and conservation projects next year. But the need for
our services outpaces our capacity so we need much more.

Now for those of you who missed our great global conference on biodiversity
19 and 20 October, I share with you two session recordings every week
(there were 8 sessions including the opening/welcoming session). Some of
this is in Arabic, some in English, and some translated:
