Research announcement & (putative) subspecies of Homo sapiens- Mazin Qumsiyeh

The Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability at Bethlehem
University (PIBS- BU), The Galilee Society (GS), and The Palestinian Center
for Rapprochement Between People (PCR) announce the availability of
research grants in the areas of human- and bio- diversity. The project
funded by the European Union Peace building Initiative (EN112019412-148) is
titled: “Unity and Diversity in Nature and Society” and aims at:  promoting
joint actions focused on the sustainability of human and natural systems.
Objectives include: 1) integrating and enhancing research and development
(R&D) among researchers from different regions in areas of biodiversity
leading to conservation and sustainability of both human and natural
ecosystems, and 2) promote behavioral change in communities leading to
respect and conservation for human and natural diversity. We seek local
research proposals (please note preferences given for master students),
based on these guidelines:

For those interested, please fill out this stage 1 online form by 15

Putative subspecies of Homo sapiens (Linnaeus 1758)
1. H. s. politicus: This is a unique subspecies that thrives when other
subspecies are subservient to it. Tends to have notions of superiority,
recognition of self-importance and that no one else can be as good as they
are in what they do. They tend to think that their wealth is more than
deserved. Staying in dominant position is important and paramount for
individuals of this group. Robin Williams once quipped that the origin of
teh word politics is from poli meaning many and tics meaning blood
suckingcreatures.

2. H. s. victimosus: characterized by incessant focus on their own
victimhood (perceived or real). They usually do not like to take
responsibility for their own actions

3. H. s. capitis: specimens of this rather small population have lots of
influence because they are obsessed with accumulation of wealth which gives
them a lot of leverage on other subspecies and they use it most of the time
to increase their wealth and influence at the expense of others and of the
environment. No matter how rich they are they still think they need to be
richer. This is a relatively addictive behavior that they indulge and are
willing to do anything to keep going on that path.

4. H.s. sinistramus: Individuals of this subspecies read Marx, Lenin,
and/or Mao with vigor. They are usually educated and highly idealistic
intelligentsia who speak a lot about working people and what they need.
They are opposed to H s capitis. On occasion when given a chance at power
they may themselves mutate to become H. s. capitis or even politicus.

5. H. s. zealoticus: A rather heterogeneous (polymorphic) group of
individuals who follow different sects. Complain much of persecution when
being underdog but are highly inclined to persecute others when in power.
They can be extremely pacifying in the former situation but extremely
violent in the latter.

6. H. s. zioniisticus: Can be religious or atheist but in either case
believes God gave all Jews the land of Palestine which they call Erezt
Yisrael/Land of Israel. Considers converts to Judaism to be equally
entitled to steal land from native people. Considers converts from Judaism
to other religions not Jewish but considers Atheist Jews as a legitimate
category of entitled “chosen people”. Suffers from this malady of
inconsistency but more significant from a superiority – inferiority
complex. Many anthropologists consider this merely a variant of H. s.
zealoticus.

7. H. s. namallicurantus (older name altruisticus): This group is rather
rare in the range of the species. They tend to sacrifice themselves to help
others/their communities. Many spend time in detention or are killed by
members of the other subspecies. Scientists still do not understand how
such a small group does change courses of history for especially the next
group.

8. H. s. indifferentus: This last group is by far the largest subspecies.
It is characterized by passive indifference to their surroundings (local or
global affairs). They just truck along in life avoiding making changes and
generally avoiding getting out of their comfort zone. Usually this last
group though most effected by the actions of the other groups is the one
that empowers all of them except namallicurantus.

This is not an exhaustive list of the subspecies of Homo sapiens
(optimistically named so by Linnaeus in 1758). Some scientists think there
is much overlap and mixing of these and that this is an exercise in
futility. Feel free to comment, describe others and share with us. There is
also a debate on whether this constellation of subspecies is destined to
extinction with their own hands….
